y los poetas y prosistas ingleses

Este año, al cumplirse dos décadas de la muerte del célebre escritor, lo invitamos muy especialmente a esta charla que gira sobre la influencia que ejercieron desde siempre, los escritores ingleses en la prosa, la poesía y el ensayo de Jorge Luis Borges.

En la misma se hará un rápido repaso de los escritores más nombrados por el poeta: Chaucer, Shakespeare, Marlowe, John Donne, William Blake, Longfellow, Robert Louis Stevenson, Josef Conrad, Arthur Machen, Yeats, Coleridge, Emerson, Carlyle, Sir Thomas Browne, Rudyard Kipling, Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle, Chesterton y un largo etcétera, sin olvidar a los poetas anónimos de lengua anglosajona.

La charla estará a cargo de Julio Enrique Brugos.
• Ex-alumno de Jorge Luis Borges en sus clases de Anglo-Saxon y Old Norse.
• Actual ayudante en el Curso Introductorio de Sumerio, que se imparte en la USAL.
Asimismo, dicta por cuarto año consecutivo el curso de Idioma Quenya (la lengua élfica más desarrollada por John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, el creador de “El Señor de los Anillos”).
